Installation and Configuration

This chapter describes the requirements and procedure to install the Infoworks DataFoundry. It also includes the details like Hadoop Stack specifications, Infoworks dependencies, configurations and user permission requirements.

NOTE: This chapter is intended to serve as a planning document for the operations staff (project managers, data warehouse architects, and system administrators).

Disclaimer

In accordance with standard industry practice, we recommend that our customers remember to:

Always test the product in a non-production environment with test data.
Ensure that new version upgrades are also tested in development environments with regression tests using your data and pipelines.
Always ensure that your data is backed up and recoverable in case of any errors during development and testing.
Back up the Infoworks metadata repository on a regular basis, especially prior to installing an upgrade.
Test your configurations with meaningful data and volumes so that optimizations can be performed in advance of production.
