What is the new License Management?
The new License Management in the Infoworks ADE allows more granular feature management.
How do we navigate to the License Management page in the Infoworks ADE?
You must login to the Infoworks ADE, click the Admin menu and the License Managementicon (). You will see the Infoworks license page.
How do we get the Infoworks license key?
First, upgrade the installation to 2.5.0 or a higher version. Then, navigate to the License Management page. In that page you will see the Installation ID. Copy it and mail it to Infoworks. The license key will be sent to you via mail.
How do we install the Infoworks license?
Copy the license key sent by Infoworks, paste in the Install Your New Infoworks Licensetext box and click Install New License. The new license will be installed.
What if the license is not applied after upgradation/installation of 2.5.0 or higher version?
Some warnings will be displayed in the UI for the components that are not licensed. Creation of new sources will be blocked. All the jobs will work as it is.
Are there separate licenses for development and production environments?
Yes, as there will be different installation IDs for each environment, you will need different licenses for each environment.
What is the impact of the license on the components?
- For Source, you will not be allowed to use the source types that are not licensed. If an unlicensed source type is already used, a warning will be displayed in the Source Typecolumn of the Manage Sources page.
- For Pipeline, Workflow, Orchestrator and Cube, if you edit a component without the required license, a warning will be displayed in the editor page.
What are the license violations?
These are the license violations:
- Server not having a license.
- License being expired or not started.
- Registered users not being licensed.
- Usage of unlicensed source types.
- Usage of unlicensed feature (Data Transformation, Cube, etc).
